Effective implementation of regional/sub-regional strategies is essential for organisations to demonstrate performance and impact as well as maintain strong working relationships with their partners and other stakeholders.
The process of strategy development also provides an opportunity to achieve other important aims, for example:
- enabling organisations to look at their purpose and activities afresh in order to plan and sustain their future
- testing out new and innovative ways of working
- uniting organisations around a sense of common purpose and commitment to work together where, previously, there had been little evidence of this
- using carefully targeted consultation to ensure that the strategy's priorities for action are demand led.
Our work with the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council on Developing London's museums offered an opportunity to explore a new strategic approach to delivering the Renaissance programme.
We undertook a major assignment for the London Development Agency to develop the London Production Industries Strategy as a framework for action to help manufacturers tackle barriers to growth.
We carried out an extensive exercise for the East of England Development Agency as part of the preparation of a Regional Business Start-Up Strategy. The challenge for the Agency was to develop an approach to enterprise support that could be more closely aligned to customer needs.
