London Development Agency : Local Food Infrastructure Project
The LDA's Local Food Infrastructure Project seeks to address the significant challenge which London faces in substituting high volumes of imported food with local sustainable produce.
We are project managing a complex large scale programme of interlinked projects which draw together the LDA, other Regional Development Agencies in the Greater South East, Transport for London and a range of public, private and third sector organisations.
Its main focus is London's six wholesale markets and working with them to encourage a marked change in their buying behaviour, specifically, to increase their sourcing of sustainable produce from local producers and suppliers in the Greater South East whilst maintaining and improving their commercial viability.
