Services - Managing Change
Organisations across the private, public and voluntary sectors face a world of continuing change.
This is a reality for organisations of all sizes in all parts of the economy. Equipping an organisation to successfully adapt and manage change involves a combination of careful planning, real consultation and involvement with the people affected by change and structured implementation of whatever changes are agreed. MLA East Midlands has gone through such a change process.
Establishing a clear, shared vision which is understood by everyone involved in the process is a prerequisite for achieving the successful management of change. It involves people at all levels of the organisation, including its senior management, as well as funding bodies, to be fully behind the process of change.
Our options analysis of Greenwich Council's heritage services helped establish a shared vision which is providing a framework for the services' stakeholders to manage the change process.
Managing change can become an even greater challenge when it entails merging the objectives, cultures and modus operandi of two organisations.
Such a challenge faced the London Development Agency and UK Trade & Investment London in creating a dual key strategy for their international trade activities.
